Would you trade the first, Domi and Struble for ti-bas de Laine?

Struble is a random name to trade there. Is he a good prospect?

I don't think it get it done.

I think I would but doubt the Jets would do it...

I would definitely move a first, Domi and one of our young D (not Romanov) for a quality top 3 winger....but Bergevin doesn't like big risk. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a good GM and has made great trades, I just don't see him paying what he needs to pay to get a guy like Laine or a Gaudreau. I don't see him paying the big bucks to sign a Hall in free agency either.

I just really hope he doesn't cheap out, and go for a low risk second or third best thing (his signature move) and trade for an Alex Killorn, sign a Jesper Fast or a second line winger from the KHL and try and sell it to us as having made a big acquisition. Actually, I dont know if I'll be more pissed at that, or at a press conference in november saying the market is hard, players don't grow on trees, they have a good team and if they can make the playoffs anything is possible.

I really hope I'm wrong.

I would if there's a way to extend Laine. I wouldn't if he plays here for 1 or 2 seasons and then leaves as a UFA. same goes for Domi the other way around I guess.
If a deal can be done to extend Laine, I would even consider switching Struble for Caufield.

oh! and Karine, excellent once again.

Oh please don’t trade the #1 pick. It’s not time yet. See TB.
Give MB time to swing another winning deal. He has Domi and an excess of defense to move and teams out there with cap problems.
AND a very reasonable extension for Petry I did not think was possible.

I don't see a big move like Laine or Gaudreau. More something towards Rakell, Schwartz or Anderson which may cost Mete + some picks and maybe a prospect. He may trade his 1st, that would be a good option as you pointed correctly Karine, there is a market for that. He also could sign Dadonov or Smith from the UFA. But a big move à la Laine, forget that. Berg est trop prudent pour cela.

I also think he's going to keep Domi.

Bergevin is bipolar. Trying to guess what he will do is an exercise in futility. The one thing I like is that he will do something.
